Activity description

Declared as Natural Monument in 1996 with the aim of protecting the geology of the area, due to the great proliferation of huge granite boulders.

A route through this wonderful natural monument surrounding both ponds fed by río Salor, the one of Barrueco de Arriba and Barrueco de Abajo, where we will be able to observe numerous water birds and some birds of prey; it also counts on one of the biggest white stork colonies of Europe.

In our route, we will find remains of Roman villages and a group of several anthropomorphic tombs sculpted in the rock. A neolithic town, where we can admire cave paintings and engravings.
