What to do in Barcelona
The province of Barcelona is famous for the well-known Ciudad Condal, which bears the same name. Many will visit it for their Sagrada Familia, and those same ones will take advantage of to walk by their ramblas.

However, not all your time you have to invest in visiting the big city. The province of Barcelona spans 7728 square kilometers, where you can find high peaks or green valleys. Both landscapes will be the ideal environment to practice nature activities of all types.

One of them, and perhaps one of the most demanded on the planet earth, is hiking. And why is hiking one of the most practiced activities in the province of Barcelona? Fundamentally for two reasons.

The first is that, Barcelona, despite having a part of the Pyrenees, it is very small. Those who want to practice adventure sports travel to the high mountains of the Pyrenees in Girona or Lleida, where adrenaline and excitement rise to unimaginable levels.

The second reason is that in Barcelona there is a great diversity of landscapes and types of routes that invite you to stay to enjoy nature without needing to have great experience in that world. Of course, there are routes for more experienced people, but also for those who start hiking for the first time: to get a backpack and boots do not need much preparation.

If you want an idea, we suggest a route through Montseny. Within the Natural Park, you have different routes and difficulty. All of them deserve and well worth it.

Another of the strong points of this Catalan province are the balloon trips. The reason for this fact is not something that we have very clear, but we suspect that the fascinating landscape that is observed from the sky must have something to do.

Balloon trips in Barcelona are one of the most demanded activities in the province, since the different options available are very varied. From flights with all kinds of luxuries, flights for almost the whole family (we must bear in mind that there are very many families) or flights for two people in which you can, who knows, give a special news.

On the other hand, it goes without saying that Barcelona, having a coastline, can also be your destination if you are in search of aquatic activities. Prepare your arms because one of the options is kayaking; Yes, even in the city of Barcelona itself. But also by the river Ter, northeast of the province (among others). Fine tune your balance, because another option is paddle surfing, that mix between rowing and surfing the coasts of the province of Barcelona. With this activity you can reach coves that, otherwise, maybe you could not.

Another option is to immerse yourself in the most rural Barcelona and sleep in the most charming farmhouses. Walk through practically virgin places or help the countrymen in their daily tasks. Ecotourism in a state of purity of 100%. Can you imagine the experience? Well, stop imagining it and live it.

Also, once in Barcelona, you can also take the option to move a bit more and move on to the other Catalan provinces. Each one with its particularities, with its own culture, and with innumerable options to enjoy nature.

We are used to looking for reasons to carry out our actions. Sometimes we take it as a necessity. If you are of that type of people, do not worry, here we present ours.
Barcelona and nature, 6 reasons why
  1. Do ecotourism and adventure tourism very close to a big city

In the province of Barcelona you can have the luck to visit the city of Barcelona, and its most emblematic tourist spots, but also to know the nature that surrounds the metropolitan area. In many cases, 50 kilometers will be enough to get you away from the city and find true havens for the nature lover.

  1. Dare to know the landscapes of Barcelona from the air

We've already ventured to you. Balloon trips in Barcelona have been going strong for some years now. It will be that one finds his moment of peace and tranquility in the clouds and this, the people, we become addicted. Fly over the sky of Vic or the Empordà region and tell us about your experience. Sure you repeat.

  1. Put a flag on your map, pointing to Barcelona, if you have not met her yet

What more reasons do you need to visit a place, than the fact of never having done it before? 50 years ago traveling was difficult: communications were not the most desired, and when there were, they were probably very expensive. However, fortunately, today the options for moving are numerous. Of course, we prefer one that requires an extra effort, but totally sustainable and exciting: the bicycle.

  1. Look for options to spend your free time respectful with the environment

Many of the activities in nature have little impact on it. Although this does not mean that, in our passage through the natural landscapes of the province, we should go at our whim. Respect for the fauna and flora of the place, for the welfare of the people who live there and, ultimately, for the site we visit, should be our top priority.

  1. Let yourself be advised and trust the best local guides, they better than anyone else know what is best for their land

At Nattule we will not tire of defending the figure of the local guide. They are the ones who know the place best, who respect it most, and who else will fight to keep it in perfect condition. Collaborate with them in their role, and you will benefit from their services. Your experience will be squeezed to the maximum and you will feel that you have made the most of every minute of your stay in Barcelona.

  1. Take the opportunity to travel to the neighboring provinces: Girona, Lérida and Tarragona

In the first two you have the high mountains of the Pyrenees waiting for you to know them in the best way you can think of: climbing, via ferrata, rafting or snowshoeing. In Tarragona, both the coast and the interior offer you different options to enjoy Barcelona from end to end.
