Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche 


The Natural Park Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche is a natural place that awaits a large number of fauna and plants. It is one of the largest protected areas in Andalusia. It is one of the best sites for wildlife observation in Sierra Morena. Its traditional isolation has contributed to a good conservation of many of its typical species of the Mediterranean forest, such as the lynx, genet, deer, wild boar. Also a rich nocturnal fauna where nocturnal birds of prey predominate.

Nights of astronomy in Sierra Morena

Sierra Morena is a Starlight certified area (the largest Starlight tourist destination in the world) thanks to its optimal conditions for observing the night sky, with a very low light pollution. This allows the observation of stars in the Sierra de Aracena to be an activity where you can know the night sky in all its splendor (planets, stars, comets).

The activity

During the activity of about 3 hours (approximately) we will carry out a nocturnal route where the intention is to see and learn about the nocturnal fauna of the natural environment. Upon arrival at the chosen site, an astronomy workshop with an astronomical telescope will be held to observe spectacular images of the night sky. All this accompanied by a guide that will inform us of everything and provide us with the necessary material for the development of the activity.
