Its vast territory and the diversity of the landscapes make it a country with one of the richest biodiversities in the world. The rich cultural heritage, such as the Mayans, the white sand beaches, make it a destination which attracts millions of tourists annually.

The region of Quintana Roo holds some of the most precious beaches of the Caribbean Sea. It is a perfect destination to do water sports all year long, such as snorkeling.

The National Marine Park of Arrecifes Xcalak

In the south of Rivera Maya, close to the capital of the region Chetumal, you will find a small fisher village called Xcalak. This tropical paradise located right in the National Marine Park of Arrecifes Xcalaka. It is the last city on the Mexican Caribbean coast only a mile away from the frontier with Belice and is characterized by its typical Caribbean island beauty.

We offer you two different places inside the Marine Reserve of Xcalak to practise snorkeling. Later on you will visit the Marine Reserve and the Bahía de Chetumal where the Island of Birds (la Isla de las Aves) is located. It is the best point for observing endemic as well as migratory species.
