What to do and see in Soria: Rural tourism and active tourism
Although the most outstanding places to travel by mountain bike (BTT) are the Sierra de Cabrejas and the Pinares de Urbión. You will find routes of several levels and different length, being able to divide them in stages. Up to 291 kilometers can be traveled through forests of oaks, birches and pines.
This area, that of the Pinares de Urbión, is also well-known for engaging in microtourism; experience more and more outstanding among the activities in nature in Soria. As well as for listening to the bellowing.
On the other hand, if you want to see birds (although here you will also find them) it is best to head back to the Lobos River Canyon. On its cliffs you can see many griffon vultures. In addition, you will find eagles, hawks and kites, among others.
If you are looking for something more active, the best activities for the summer are water activities. Kayaking or paddle surfing can be practiced in two areas: the Douro River, near the capital, and the Cuerda del Pozo reservoir, in the Pinares region. On the contrary, for the winter, nothing like looking for snow activities at the Santa Inés Snow Point, close to the Laguna Negra. You can practice alpine and cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing.
To finish, the skies of Soria are another attraction. You can enjoy them, and the views, with a quiet balloon ride through the Natural Reserve of Sabinar de Calatañazor.
