Ciudad Real, the best place for ecotourism experiences
Castilla-La Mancha already dazzles by the amount of protected spaces that we can find in it; but, between its provinces, Ciudad Real takes the cake.
This is the only province in Spain that counts, not with one, but with two National Parks: Cabañeros and Tablas de Daimiel. In addition, it has two Natural Parks, the Lagunas de Ruidera and the Alcudia Valley and Sierra Madrona; and another good number of Reserves, Natural Monuments, etc.
All of them are really unique and different from each other. The combination gives rise to a surprising nature where wetlands, steppes, riverbank forests, Mediterranean forest and even volcanoes can be found. Between them, the offer of activities in nature in Ciudad Real is immense.
In the Cabañeros National Park, active tourism activities stand out. Hiking trails, horseback riding, kayaking along the Bullasque River, climbing or abseiling are some of the proposals you can find. If you are a night bug, it is also a great place to start astrotourism.
On the other hand, the National Park of Tablas de Daimiel is known, above all, for its possibilities for birdwatching or bird watching. These are combined with guided tours, hiking trails or environmental education activities for the little ones.
