Zamora is a province of perfect and contrasting landscapes. A province in which nature is known and savored. It is known because it is obvious, we all know the beauty of its places, we all hear names like Lake Sanabria or Sierra de la Culebra. The activities in nature in Zamora are multiple and varied. They depend, many times, on the region in which we find ourselves, all different and unique.

 

In the Natural Park of Sanabria Lake, in the northwest of the province, many of them can be practiced. This complex of glacial lagoons offers one of the best spaces to enjoy trekking and mountaineering, hosting the highest peaks in the province. You can also go hiking, cycling or water sports. In addition, this space is the point of Zamora that accumulates more snow throughout the year, which is why winter activities such as skiing are also frequent.

On the other hand, the Natural Park of Arribes del Duero, shared with the province of Salamanca, is not far behind in terms of activities in nature in Zamora. In this spectacular valley you can sail in kayak, trekking or hiking, mountain biking, enjoy geotourism or engage in bird watching.

 

In the Sayago region, interpretive walking is also practiced. As well as water sports, which take place in the Almendra reservoir. In summer you can bathe in this as well as in the river Tormes. And, if you want something more original, you can make a route on horseback through the region.

 

If you like birding, the Villafáfila Nature Reserve is what you have to visit. Many aquatic birds find their meeting point here during the migration. You can observe them while you enjoy some of the available hiking routes, stopping at the observatories.

 

But talking about ecotourism in Zamora is, above all, talking about the Iberian wolf.
