The Valencian Community and its sustainable hidden activities
The Valencian Community is known mainly for two things: its beaches and its parties. Who has gone a couple of times has roasted in the sand and visited the Fallas, yes or yes. What is perhaps less known is that this community also has a natural environment and an enviable diversity of ecosystems.

Its flora and fauna are unique in the Mediterranean. Its mountains and wetlands endow the province with incredible contrasts. In total, the Valencian Community has more than twenty protected natural areas. All of them waiting for you to visit them to enjoy the activities in nature in the Valencian Community.

There is no better way to know this community than walking. More than 280 well-marked trails cross the region, adding almost 5,000 kilometers of route. The routes approach the coast or cross the peaks of the highest mountain ranges. All of them take you to discover a unique environment of great patrimonial wealth.
Discover beautiful stories around the nature in this area of Spain
In addition, of the shortest routes and local routes, there are many long-distance paths that run through the most beautiful landscapes of the Valencian Community. The GR7 is one of them. With 500 kilometers away, it crosses the three provinces of the community and allows you to enjoy stunning views over the Mediterranean.

Birds also like to pass through here; and it is that this region is an important migratory destination for many birds. For that reason, birding or bird watching is one of the best activities in nature in the Valencian Community that you can do. Several wetlands serve this purpose; although the best known is the Albufera Natural Park of Valencia.

On the other hand, if you are one of those who prefer to go on wheels, the eight BTT centers of the region (with some 3,000 kilometers of route) give you the opportunity to know the most mountainous side of the Valencian Community with pedals. If you are climbing rather than rolling, there are many areas where you can practice climbing or make ferrata routes throughout the territory.

In addition, the rivers and reservoirs of the community allow you to also enjoy water activities. The river Cabriel is the best for the descent of whitewater, with a stretch that you should not miss, the Hoces del Cabriel. Do diving on the seabed of the Marine Reserve of the Columbretes Islands is another idea to end up falling in love with the nature of the Valencian Community.
