Be surprised by Teruel
It is also possible to do many ecotourism and adventure activities in the Maestrazgo Cultural Park, around the Guadalope River. This mountainous landscape has a great cultural heritage, reflected, for example, in its important archaeological sites.
In addition, in the region of Maestrazgo there are four Natural Monuments: the Crystal Grotto of Mills, Fonseca Bridge, the Birth of the Pitarque River and the Organs of Montoro. With such a variety of incredible spaces it is not surprising that this region is perfect for hiking, caving or birdwatching routes.
Although perhaps one of the most interesting activities in nature in Teruel that can be done is the observation of stars. The region of Gúdar Javalambre is considered one of the best places in Europe to devote to this experience, because there is hardly any light pollution. In fact, in the Pico del Buitre, in the Sierra de Javalambre, an astrophysical observatory is installed.
The offer of adventure activities in this region is completed by two ski resorts, which open to the public normally from December to April. And of course, with a wide network of marked trails that, like in the rest of the province, can be covered on foot, on horseback or by bicycle.
