Granada, the sustainable tourism paradise
If you like adventures, and you like Andalusia, Granada will become your favorite place. And there is a lot of adventure in the nature of Granada! Canyoning in the Verde River , speleology in the Sierra de Arana, diving in Motril or rafting in the Guadalfeo River are just some examples.

Water activities or activities on land, which one suits you best? The province of Granada has multiple options so you do not get tired of repeating it. This way you will get to know all the natural beauty that surrounds it, as well as its well-known cultural and historical heritage.

As for the activities on land, you have several alternatives. Depending on the time of year you can even enjoy winter activities. Who does not know Sierra Nevada ? Surely more than one has visited it in winter, but have you visited it when it does not have snow? It is a fantastic place to do hiking activities, and its views are still spectacular.

The Natural Park of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama, on the other hand, offers you the possibility of traveling with a mountain bike, by 4x4 car or on foot. Its peaks form the natural border between Granada and Malaga, and it is one of the favorite places for mountain adventurers. Or if you love the mysteries of the earth, you can explore the caves of the Sierra de Arana in a speleology activity.

But if you are in love with water activities, Granada has a place for you. Rivers, such as the Guadalfeo, Lentegi or Verde are magnificent options for the most intrepid adventurers where to leave the adrenaline having fun with the aquatic canyoning, kayak or rafting. You can also choose to enjoy the calm waters of the Bermejales or Negratín reservoirs for paddle surfing or archery.

We can not forget that Granada has a great advantage that the other provinces of the interior envy: the beach . Motril, Salobreña, Almuñecar, Castell de Ferro or Albuñol are perfect to enjoy those aquatic activities that you can not do in other places such as diving and snorkeling. Although you can also practice kayaking and paddle surfing, only in a totally different environment.

And is that, whatever your tastes, surely Granada has an option that fits for you. Are you still thinking why you should know the nature of this province? Here we leave you 6 reasons that will encourage you to discover it.
6 reasons to fall in love with Granada
1. To know it beyond the Alhambra

Many people know the cultural heritage of Granada, but how many know their natural heritage? This province has a lot of history to tell, let your own nature tell you.

You can discover it on the back of a horse, going into one of its caves, or on an interpretative hiking route. The possibilities are many and you choose.

2. Playing sports outside the gym

The views of a gym leave much to be desired compared to those you can see anywhere in nature. Do you prefer running on a treadmill or traveling parallel to the Cacín River?

Both exercise your body, but only one makes a gift in sight. Enjoy the outdoors! It is good for both the mind and the body.

3. Are you beach or mountain?

The beach and the mountain give a lot of game to the adventurer in Granada. You can choose between doing the most intrepid via ferrata in the mountains or navigating your own kayak through the waters of the sea.

You will never get bored if you decide to try all the activities that the nature of Granada offers you.

4. Do not stop in winter!

It is true that in winter it is very tempting to stay close to the brazier, but the best way to warm up is by playing sports. In addition to Sierra Nevada, there are many places to enjoy the snow with your friends, partner or family.

For example, located in the Alpujarras Granada, in Trevélez you have the opportunity to do snowshoeing activities and horseback riding.

5. Know 2 large provinces: Jaén and Almería

The fate of the situation in Granada makes it possible to visit the eastern part of Andalusia without much effort. At 1 hour by car you can visit the beautiful and curious province of Jaén, discovering the kilometric landscapes of olive groves and the Natural Park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas. Also 1 hour and a half by car you can enjoy the desert landscapes of Almeria and its Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar.

Both important enclaves and great contrasts of the nature of Andalusia.

6. Put your bit in doing sustainable tourism

Sustainable tourism is no longer an option, but a necessity. Focusing your way of tourism from the respect for the environment and local economic development is possible and simple. If we put all in value the natural heritage of Granada, will have more chances that this will last for longer with us.
