‘Everest Base Camp trek’ is one of the most visited treks in Nepal. What makes it so popular is the location of this trek: the base camp of Mount Everest (the highest peak in the world). As thrilling as this may already sound, the view of the mountains makes up only a small part of the entire journey you’ll be able to enjoy with us.
The highlights in this trip are: a scenic mountain flight to Lukla, as well as visiting a school established by Sir Edmund Hillary in the mountain village of Khumjung. Sherpa home town, as well as learning their amazing culture and tradition. Amazing views of the Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku, and many other peaks. Visiting monasteries and local villages, as well as discovering the impressive Everest.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
We will pick up you from the airport. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your respective hotel by our team.
Day 02: Free and arrangement day
This day is though to arrange the trip, and we will introduce you to your guide for your Everest Base camp trek. Rest of the day is for you to enjoy your afternoon off - you can go shopping, or you could even enjoy the sightseeing in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. Trek to Monzo
Early this morning, you will be transferred to the domestic airport to catch a flight to Lukla. The 35 minutes flight is a scenic and a perfect spot for mountain-seeing. The view you’ll be able to enjoy from the plane is just a little hint of what an amazing and incredible journey you will live in the next few days. Once you reach Lukla, you will trek to Monzo (4 hours trek). You will spend the night in a local lodge.
Day 04: Trek from Monzo to Namche Bazaar
You will trek to Monzo from Namche Bazaar. The route will take you to the Sagarmatha National Park. Its remarkable beauty has it enlisted under UNESCO world heritage site. The park is also home to several wildlife species.
Day 05: Rest day in Namche Bazaar
You will need to rest for a day in Namche Bazaar. The rest is a must for acclimatization before the trek. However, you will not be spending this day by yourself or without doing anything. You will be taken out to enjoy the sight-seeing and small hikes around Namche. You will spend the night in Namche Bazaar in a local lodge.
Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
The route to Tengboche is a spiritual one comprising of various monasteries and temples. You will be visiting Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual center of Khumbu situated at an elevation of 12,700ft. The trail heads through Kayangjuma towards Sansa and a beautiful pine forest, before entering into Tengboche. You will spend the night in a local lodge.
Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche
The hike to Dingboche is at an elevation of 14,000 ft. You will also be walking over a suspension bridge that gains its popularity from the spectacular view of the mountain, Ama Dablam. The valley will slowly begin to open up as you approach the confluence of the Lobuche River. A steep climb across the river will bring you to Dingboche. You will spend the night in a local lodge.
Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche
Lobuche lies at an elevation of 16,170ft. On the way to Lobuche, you will pass by a number of stone memorials to honor climbers who failed in their attempt to make it to the peak of Mt. Everest. This route will also offer you views of Nuptse, Cholatse, Thamserku, and several other magnificent peaks. As the trail drops to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, you will gain the closest view of Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal. You will spend the night in a local lodge.
Day 09: Trek from Lobuche to Ghorakshep (5160 m) and Trek to get to explore the Everest Base camp and descent to Ghorakshep
This is probably the most thrilling day of the trek. After a great lunch at Gorak Shep, you will hike up the notorious Khumbu icefall. From here, you will walk to the Everest Base Camp. You will spend an hour or so exploring the camp side which is affluently gifted with natural scenic beauty. You will trek back to Ghorakshep, and spend the night in a local lodge there.
Day 10: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapathar + descent to Phireche
Kalapathar (5555M) is the highest height you can gain in this amazing trek. It is an excellent viewpoint of the Mount Everest. Along with the Everest, you’ll admire innumerable spectacular peaks that are also visible from Kalapthar. From Kalapthar, you will walk down to Periche which lies at a high elevation of 4280m. Stay the night in a local lodge.
Day 11: Trek from Phireche- Khumjung Village
You will be descending down to Khumjung village. The village is beautiful and is where Sherpa people live. You will get the unique chance of knowing their culture and lifestyle. Night in a guest house.
Day 12: Trek from Khumjung Village - Manjoo
The walk to Manjoo is through a path that presents small elevating and descending valleys. The view of the Everest is excellent from this route. You will also see several mani stones along the trail. Night in a guest house.
Day 13: Trek from Manjoo- Lukla
The walk from Manjoo to Lukla will take you about 5hrs. Manjoo is a small village with scanty settlements. The view of the mountain seen from this place appears to be extended far along the skyline behind the green hills. You will spend the night in a local lodge.
Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu
It will take you around 35 minutes to fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla, early in the morning. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your respective hotels.
