There are numerous hidden treasures in Peru. It is a cradle of Inca Empire and holds a rich cultural and architectural heritage that is still preserved up to this day.
We are talking about one of the countries with the greatest biological diversity in the world. It is a country of extremes where you can find a place to climb its high peaks of the Andes, visit an extreme desert along the coast or venture into the endless Amazon jungle.
The Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu
The ancient historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu is located at about 2,500 meters and can be found in the South of Peru and is one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. To reach its highest peak is experience which you cannot miss.

Day 1: Flight to the imperial city of the Incas
After arriving to Cusco a representative of Valencia Travel Cusco will be waiting for you. We will pick you up with our private transport and take you to your hotel where you will spend the night. You will have a whole day to relax and enjoy the beauty of Cusco.

Day 2: Free day (extra excursions available)
OPTION 1. - A HALF DAY CITY TOUR
We will pick you up at 2:00 pm. The places we will visit will be:
The Cathedral (Plaza de Armas)
Qoricancha (El templo del sol)
Four archeological sites which include: Sacsayhuaman, Q´enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
OPTION 2. - A FULL DAY TOUR TO THE SACRED VALLEY
We will pick you up at 8:15 am. The places we will visit will be:
Valle de Urubamba
Valle Sagrado y Pisac
Ollantaytambo
Mercado de Chinchero
Day 3: The beginning of an adventure - “Inca flat”
We will start the tour in Cusco. We will pick you up from your hotel between 4h and 4:30h (the pick up time will be confirmed in a training session) and will travel 82 kilometers to Piskacucho on a bus. On our way we will have a quick stop at Ollantaytambo between 6:30h and 7h to regain our strength. We will reach kilometer 82 at around 8:30h where we will get ready for the hike.
From here we will start traveling in a height of 2720 meters (8923 ft). Crossing the Vilcanota River, we will continue along the route and enjoy beautiful views of the Inca fortress known as Huillca Raccay, the vast Inca of Llactapata (called Patallacta), the Urubamba mountain range that divides the jungle and the beautiful peak of Wakay Willca (known as Verónica) situated at more than 5,800 meters.
The tour for the day will end once we will arrive to the Ayapata camp located one and a half hour away from the Wayllababa village, in the green valley called after the same name. On the first day we will cover about 12 km of route (5 or 6 hours) in total.
Day 4: Trial Route
Once we will get up at 5:30h, we will start with a steep ascent to the highest pass known as Abra de Warrmihuañusca (the Passage of the dead woman) at 4200m (13779 ft). We will climb to its peak and then descend until we reach Pacaymayu where we will rest.
During the hike we will encounter birds such as colibries, apart from a multitude of other species of flora as well as trees typical to the area of Polypesis.
After lunch we will start the second ascent of 2 hours towards Runkuraqay pass where our camp for the second night is located. We should arrive at around 17h. On the second day we will cover around 16 kilometers (8-9 hours in total).
Day 5: Back to the past!
A beautiful landscape and a short walk to the camp. The day will start at 6h with rich breakfast and then we will start walking with an easy climb to visit the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca (City of Clouds) and reach the third highest point of the trail (3680 m). From here, the views of the mountains, canyons and surrounding areas are incredible.
We will continue walking through the cloud forest to the Inca place of Intipata and Wiñay Wayna campsite. We will walk for a total of 5 hours (about 10 km) on this day. Within a short distance from the campsite the archaeological remains named after the same name Wiñay Wayna are situated. They are a sight of greatest interest.
Day 6: Machu Picchu in all of its glory!
The last day of our trip will be dedicated to visit Machu Picchu. We will leave our last camp around 5:30h and will walk towards Inti Punku (Sun gate) before dawn. From here you will have a chance to observe the incredible views of the famous Machu Picchu with the sun rising right above it.
We will continue until the last part of the route and take the opportunity to take magnificent photos of the surroundings before arriving to the city. We will arrive to the ancient city of Machu Picchu in about two hours (5 km). Here you can explore the mysterious city in depth.
On our way back, you will meet with your guide in Aguas Caliente (you can get there ont he bus or on foot) where we will have lunch and take a train back to Cusco. You will also have an option to spend and extra night in the city to enjoy its thermal baths - an absolute delight after completing the hike!
Day 7: Camino a Puno and the Lake of Titicaca
We will pick you up to visit the monuments and the Lake Titicana:
Andahuyalillas: considered as the Sistine Chapel of South America. This church is one of the most beautiful examples of popular Andean religious art.
Raqchi (Temple of God of Wiracocha): Inca church of monumental dimensions; 100 meters long, 26 meters wide and 14 meters high. The temple is divided into two naves and each nave has 11 giant columns.
La Raya: This is the intermediate point between Cusco and Puno and also the highest point (4335 meters above the sea level). The landscapes here are impressive and the typical Andean animals such as llama, alpaca and vicuna are common. It is also the geographical boundary between the two cultures: Quechua and Aymara.
Pukara: it is the most important and ancient ceremonial center of the altiplano. There are numerous interesting sculptures and tombs.
Day 8: the floating islands of Uros an Taquile
Visit to two floating islands of Lake Titicaca. The towns of the Uros islands were home of fishermen and hunters as well as many species of birds and remained isolated from most of the advanced civilizations. We will see their peculiar houses, the islands and meet the friendly locals. The people of Uros are descendants of one of the oldest tribes in South America.
Then we will continue to the island of Taquile. Upon arrival, we will have a possibility to enjoy the spectacular views of the Lake Titicaca. We will explore the island for 4 hours and enjoy its unspoiled beaches. We will walk for 1 hour on a pre-Inca trail (smooth and gradual walk) with stunning landscapes, while learning about the flora and fauna of the island.
Day 9: Departure from Puno
After breakfast we will transfer you to the airport. Here is where our adventure ends!
