Snowshoeing in Alto Campoo (Cantabria)

Get to know the winter mountain in a calm and safe way thanks to the snowshoe routes in the Alto Campoo.

This simple snow sport is suitable for all audiences and with little practice time you can enjoy the snow and its beautiful landscapes in the most rewarding way.

The itineraries are very diverse, since we adapt to all levels, from high peaks with incredible views to lush forests where the snow creates a beautiful postcard on the ground. This easy level route is suitable for people who have already practiced snowshoes as well as for the uninitiated.

The route will last approximately 3 to 4 hours and a vertical drop of about 300 meters. The output will be in the Alto Campoo car park, from where we will head north towards the small Valle del Sapo.

We will also visit the basin of Hoyo Sacro, a bucolic meadow surrounded by the highest peaks of Campoo (Tres mares, Cuchillón or Cornón) and crossed by different streams.

If you try it, you will never forget having hiked or trekking in the mountains on snow in the mountains of Cantabria, with breathtaking views of the high peaks that form the Herradura de Campo (the Sierra de Hijar and the Sierra de Cordel), even the Picos de Europa.
