Do you like cycling? Do you enjoy nature? Are you one of those who love venturing into the unknown? We have the perfect combination for you. La Rioja is waiting for you (with a glass of wine included).
La Rioja, much more than you think
La Rioja covers part of the Ebro Valley, and is divided by 7 rivers that flow into the Ebro. Therefore, La Rioja is also known as the 7 Valleys. In turn, the Iregua River divides La Rioja into northern and southern areas.
The autonomous community has many points of interest, such as dinosaur footprints, being in one of the best archaeological sites in the world (those of icnitas). We can also find churches and cathedrals (highlighting the Cathedral of Santa Maria), monasteries (that of Yuso or that of San Millán de Suso) or castles such as Sajazarra or Cornago. The cuisine is also exquisite.
Places that intoxicate the senses
About 40% of La Rioja is protected space. The Natural Park of the Sierra de Cebollera stands out for its vast natural forests full of wild pine, beech, birch and oak trees. All this surrounded by streams and the sound of birds singing. We can also visit the biosphere reserve of the Valleys of Jubera, Leza, Cidacos and Alhama, with an area of almost 120,000 hectares. Pure nature.
Live all this experience on this guided cycling route along La Rioja. Marvel at your bike pedals while touring valleys and towns of tourist interest like Ezcaray or Santo Domingo de la Calzada. You will also see Villoslada de Cameros, a town still with a village configuration, and Anguiano, recognized for its unique dances.
