The green Cocora Valley, Colombia

The incredible route that we offer you will take place in the Valle de Cocora, in Salento, Colombia. This valley is a beautiful natural landscape found in a mountainous valley of the central mountain range of the Colombian Andes, forming part of the National Natural Park of Los Nevados. This park is the main habitat of the national tree of Colombia called the Quindío wax palm, as well as a great variety of flora and fauna, many of which are in danger of extinction protected by the national park.

Salento, a charming town

This valley belongs to the Colombian municipality of Salento, which is located in the department of Quindío, called the father of Quindío for being the oldest town in this department. It is well known for its agricultural activities and the quality of the cultivation of coffee.

Hiking in nature

The activity last for approximately 10 hours and consists of a guided mixed hiking route. We will start the day in the magical Cocora Valley where we suggest two route options from which you will choose the one you like the most. You can choose between a beautiful trekking of up to 6 hours to complete the full tour or a 90 minute horseback riding under the wax palms.

Later, we will go see a fantastic trout farm and then we will eat an exquisite typical lunch of the Cocora Valley. At the end of the meal, we will go to the beautiful coffee town of Salento, where you will be able to buy a variety of items for a memory and enjoy wonderful scenery.

To enjoy this incredible experience you only need to be over 8 years old, bring hiking boots and a waterproof jacket.
