Visit the southernmost city on the planet and fall in love with the natural surroundings of Ushuaia.
This Argentine city has the record of being the southernmost city in the entire Earth, being surrounded by the Fuegian Andes, and located on the homonymous bay. Its geography is extremely rich and varied, highlighting its incredible hydrography.
It has rivers of various flows, where the Pipo River stands out, being born in the Tierra del Fuego National Park and flowing into the Golondrina Bay, or the Olivia River, the most important both for its large basin and its flow. They also highlight the presence of two lakes, first the Devil's Lagoon that is located in the city, and secondly the most important, Lake Fagnano. In the immediate vicinity we can also enjoy glaciers or snowdrifts.
The city as such has several places of interest such as winter centers where to practice sports, as well as numerous museums where through exhibitions they show the history of this wonderful land. The cuisine is purely southern, based mainly on seafood.
Tierra del Fuego National Park
Beautiful natural park located in the province of Tierra del Fuego, in southern Argentina. It covers about 70,000 hectares, of which only 2,000 are open to the public. It is one of the few natural parks in Argentina that has coastal areas, which greatly increases biodiversity.
We can find both Andean and forest fauna, as well as open or marine grassland fauna. We also find the Magellanic forest, or the Andean mountain. Without a doubt, one of those places that one has to see before dying. Essential, captive and incredible.
Emerald Lagoon Trekking
We propose the realization of a trekking path until the arrival of the Emerald Lagoon. We enter the Lasifashaj valley, crossing turbales and rocky terrain, bordering the Emerald River until it reaches its lagoon, an indescribable and magical place of glacial origin that receives its name due to the sediments that arrive from the Albino Glacier.
This color is only noticeable when there are warmer temperatures, since during most of the year it is frozen and covered with snow. Once we arrive, we will enjoy a box lunch, and we will return along the same route to appreciate the same landscape, but with the beauty of the sunset. In total, about 6 hours (approximately) of trekking to marvel at this incredible lagoon.
“The Argentine Patagonia is a piece of heaven that we are lucky to keep on Earth. Visit Ushuaia and discover for yourself the reason why there is nothing like it in the whole world ”.
