Traditional Fabada in Asturias

It is clear that if you come to Asturias you have to eat fabada. But what if instead of eating it at a restaurant you would do it in an alternative way?


Apparently you are invited to get to know a typical estate property with an old local house and its breadbasket to learn about the beans, apple picking and the making of cider.


You will spend a lovely time here in the countryside and later enjoy a delicious meal of fabada, salad made of the garden’s vegetables and homemade rice with milk. Later, to make the digestion process easier you can have a walk at the nearby forest.


We offer you a visit to a local farm house in the council of Villaviciosa where you will get to know traditional Asturian houses with their wineries and granaries. You will have a chance to walk around the farm and explore the plantation of fabes and apples. You could even help us in harvesting if the moment is right.


Later on we will have a traditional meal with a salad from the locally grown vegetables and fabada, accompanied with a homemade cider and a dessert of rice with wilk. While eating around the same table we with have a pleasant chat and enjoy living in a typical Asturiano environment.


If you want you can also take a walk through the forest to the close by village. It is a complete experience to disconnect and enjoy the less touristic and more traditional part of Asturias.
