Route on foot: Night birds of prey (El Tranco, Jaén)

At sunset the forests that surround the reservoir of Tranco fill with sounds. One stands out more than the other ones, the call of the night birds of prey which start to get more active around this time.

The Leisure and Active Tourism Center "El Tranco" offers you to get to know the different night birds of prey that live in Sierra de Segura. You will learn to identify their calls and to differentiate such important species like the owl, the tawny owl or the elusive scops owl.

We will start with a boat ride to get familiar with the swamp surroundings. In the evening, it will be the best time to start our route on foot and to locate the birds of the area accompanied a specialised biologist-guide indications.
