Enjoy a birdwatching day at Parque Natural “Calares del Mundo y de la Sima”, where we will enjoy several itineraries on foot without any difficulty.
This natural space is a magnificent example of karstic landscape, presenting an extraordinary development and resource in singular and unique ways.
We will spend the morning visiting the source of the río Mundo and the magnificent waterfall that starts in a great open cave in an enormous rocky cliff.
We will enjoy the possible presence of birds such the griffon vulture, the peregrine falcon, the blue nuthatch, the long tailed tit, etc.
We will move towards Cañada de los Mojones, where we will do some walking, without any difficulty, till we reach a viewpoint located over Cueva de los Chorros.
During the walk, we will be able to watch golden eagles, griffon vultures, short-toed eagles, booted eagles, blue nuthatches, carboneros garrapinos, agateadores comunes, Alpine swifts or peregrine falcons. Due to the presence of the dunghill in the area, we can’t dismiss an occasional visit of the bearded vulture or the golden eagle.
After lunch, we will visit the small pantano de Arroyo Frío, where it is possible to observe the dipper, the yellow wagtail, the blue nuthatch, the great spotted woodpecker and several other forest species.
